History

Our passion began, 35 years ago. At first, Gilbert was a fervent waterfowl hunter, new horizons open up for him & Renee with upland bird hunting and continuing waterfowl as well. So a versatile hunting dog was beginning to be more appealing. It was clear then that the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon well known for his great versatility would meet our future endeavor and aspirations both for a hunting & family companion. The idea to welcome one German Wirehaired Pointer, affectionally call “WIRES” appeared in Gilbert’s  mind  after attending his first NAVHDA Invitational in North Dakota in 2000 as an observer.

The Wirehaired Pointing Griffon and German Wirehaired Pointer are Versatile Pointing Dogs. They hunt and search at by all weather and all grounds.

The Wirehaired Pointing Griffon is resistant, easy to train, loyal & affectionate. A little clown at home with us &  the children. The German Wirehaired Pointer is honest, dedicated to his family and very affectionate as well, like a “velcro dog” and usually call “Wires”. The wires need an experienced owner and handler as his very intense desire to work design him in a very energetic way.

In September 1997, Gallixe Duchasseur came to our family from Duchasseur Kennel owned by Steve Brodeur. She became thereafter very useful hunting dog on which based the emergence of our Kennel. Tested and obtained FD title at CKC, NA & UT prizes at NAVHDA.

In 2001, Steve asked us to use Gallixe as a brood bitch for one litter with Pipo De La Riviere D’Oe FD UT I. I t was the beginning of this great adventure and our introduction into canine reproduction as just after we started our own breeding program with her as our foundation bitch under the affix of Bourg Royal.

Out of her first litter of 12 pups, several were characterized by their qualities from hunting and conformation. This 2001 Litter received, the distinction: “ Natural Abilities Breeders Award ” at NAVHDA.

Gallixe went to the rainbow bridge and passed in December 2008.

From this first litter, we welcomed a young female, a very talented WPG, Duchasseur Moustache in March 2001. Daughter of Gallixe and Pipo she gave us such wonderful moments and love throughout her entire life.
